2025 Social Housing Conference: Registration Now Open

On March 19 and 20, 2025, the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) will host the Social Housing Conference, a space for reflection and debate on housing policies in Catalonia. Organized jointly by the Observatori de l’Habitatge de Barcelona (O-HB), Gestors d’Habitatge Social de Catalunya (GHS), and COHABITAC, with the support of CUIMPB and CCCB, this conference aims to analyze current policy proposals, their feasibility, and key aspects to improve in order to achieve the ambitious goals set for social housing.

An Essential Debate to Address the Housing Crisis

In a context of severe affordability crisis, where a significant portion of the population faces great difficulties both in accessing housing and in maintaining it, housing policies have taken center stage in social debate. Various levels of administration are promoting legislative initiatives and public programs that are generating intense discussions. This conference will be an opportunity to analyze these proposals and, where appropriate, suggest improvements to ensure their effectiveness in the medium and long term.

An Analytical and Proactive Conference

The organizations in Catalonia that specialize in analyzing and managing policies related to social housing (O-HB, GHS, COHABITAC) believe that the priority is not to further reflect on the diagnosis—already widely shared—but to analyze the policy proposals currently on the table, assess their feasibility, and identify the adjustments needed to achieve their ambitious goals.

This conference will therefore provide a space to explore the different facets of social housing and contribute to the consolidation of political solutions.
