In 2022 Barcelona hosts the annual congress of the European Network for Housing Research (ENHR), one of the most important events worldwide in this field. The congress, organised jointly by Barcelona City Council and the ENHR, with collaboration from the Barcelona Municipal Housing Observatory, amongst other bodies, focusses on the fight for the right to housing, the pressure exerted by globalisation, and access to housing in cities.
The Observatory will organise the workshop The role of housing observatories in Europe: joining forces for better housing. Coordinated by Jordi Bosch, Director of the Barcelona Metropolitan Housing Observatory, and Alice Pittini from the Housing Europe Observatory, this workshop aims to review all the obstacles and challenges facing housing observatories in aspects such as housing data, monitoring and evaluating housing policies, and the governance of housing. As well, it will explore how to improve coordination between local, regional and national observatories, and the Housing Europe Observatory.
