The Observatori Metropolità de l’Habitatge de Barcelona (O-HB) publishes the report ‘Structure and concentration of housing ownership in the city of Barcelona’. This fourth edition offers data from 2023 for the city’s housing stock as a whole.
The rental fleet will be analyzed specifically in future reports.
In the report we highlight that in 2023 there will be a total of 524,357 owners and 794,272 homes in the city of Barcelona, which means an average of 1.5 units per owner and a very high volume of owners who only have a property (440,540 owners representing 84.0%).
The document also reviews the property structure, distinguishing the owners corresponding to natural persons from legal entities. And, in addition, it gives data on multi-ownership (more than 5, more than 10 and more than 15 homes per owner).
