The Barcelona Metropolitan Housing Observatory launched at the BBConstrumat trade fair the laboratory Supply and demand in the rental market in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area 2018. This is the first laboratory set up by the Observatory that analyses how the supply and demand for rental housing in the City of Barcelona and its metropolitan area is evolving.
This laboratory was set up via a collaboration agreement with the Habitaclia portal and analyses data on the availability of housing that are published on this web site and the queries made by its users. This private-public collaboration will improve knowledge of the market dynamics of the rental sector in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.
This laboratory, which is performed periodically, has also studied the contrast between the prices on this portal (both asking prices and offers) and those that figure in the rental agreements registered with the Catalan Land Institute (INCASOL).
