The Barcelona Metropolitan Housing Observatory has presented the laboratory ‘Request of demand. Second semester of 2023’; we analyze the characteristics of the effective demand for housing in Catalonia. This is the first laboratory we present on demand in Catalonia.
The work, presented within the framework of the conference ‘Demand and residential needs: today’s challenges to access decent housing’, collects the current volume of people or homes looking for housing, what characteristics they have (age, gender, …). And delve into the needs and problems of demand.
The laboratory is the result of two surveys, on the one hand the data on the volume and demographic profile of the demand have been extracted from the GESOP OMNIBUS survey and are representative of the different territorial areas; while the rest of the information comes from a panel of individuals not necessarily representative managed by an external company.
