We are taking part in an international meeting on housing indicators and policy development

On March 6 and 7, 2025, we will attend the Expert Group Meeting on Housing Indicators and Data for Policy Development at the United Nations headquarters in Brussels. This international meeting, organized within the framework of the Urban 2030 project with the support of the European Commission and the United Nations, aims to analyze and share methodologies for assessing housing affordability in Europe as well as to explore their alignment with global monitoring frameworks on housing and sustainable urban development.

During the meeting, the Metropolitan Housing Observatory will share Barcelona’s experience in measuring and analyzing the impact of short-term tourist rentals on housing prices—an issue that has become crucial for many European cities. This contribution will take place within a session dedicated to exploring tools and indicators to improve housing policy regulation and planning.

By participating in this event, the O-HB reaffirms its commitment to producing rigorous and useful knowledge for policy decision-making and strengthens its role as a key reference in metropolitan housing analysis. It also underscores the Observatory’s ongoing collaboration with other European cities and international institutions.
